The Scribe Competition
Background: In 1979/80 the then District Sub-Editor of the B. & I. Lion Magazine, Lion Arthur Scott, presented a trophy to the District know as the “Scribe Award”. It is awarded annually for the best submission or series of submissions to the B. & I. Lion Magazine from a Club within the District.
Entries: Entry to the competition is made by a Club submitting contributions to the MD105EA Lions Roar Magazine via the Editor during the year (from District Convention to District Convention).
Judging: Judging is done by the Editor who awards the “Scribe Award” to the Club which, in the Editor’s opinion, has made the “best” submission or series of submissions to the MD105EA Lions Roar Magazine via the Editor during the year (District Convention to District Convention). Publication of material the MD105EA Lions Roar Magazine itself (i.e. acceptance by the Editor in Chief) is not a criterion of this competition
Organisation: The Editor, in conjunction with the District Competitions Officer, is responsible for organising and promoting the Award.
Definition: Editor – current holder of the post of District 105EA Sub-Editor of the MD105 Lions Magazine.
