Subject: MyLion Single Sign on.
Fellow Lions
As many you of you have identified , Lions Clubs International ( LCI) has introduced at very short notice a new worldwide “Single Sign on” which covers both the MyLion app and MyLCI Information systems
Our hard working staff at MDHQ have received many enquiries about whether or not to now use this “Single Sign On”,  as MD 105 Data Protection Officer David Colville has previously advised that MyLion app should not be used for the time being until ongoing reservations about Data Protection matters were resolved – David advises that while the MyLion app is used for domestic purposes (i.e. for personal use) it is not subject to data protection, use for organisational purposes (i.e. Lions administration, reporting, etc.) is subject to data protection legislation and does not meet the requirements of current data protection legislation.
However, despite the unresolved reservations held, we now have to be pragmatic, as the “Single Sign On” has been applied worldwide by LCI as the only way to access information systems. Assurances have been given that the MYLCI system will continue to run alongside MYLion until 1 July 2019, while concerns regarding Data Protection issues are resolved, and the “Single Sign On” does still enable access to the MyLCI structure for those with official designated access to it, so please use the MyLion sign on going forward.
Any queries should be directed to your District Data Protection ComplianceOfficer or the MD Data Protection Officer.
Kind regards
Peter Burnett , Council Chairman
Phil Robinson, Council Secretary

David Colville, MD Data Protection Officer
