From Hunger Officer – Lion Chris Hibbert
Dear Lions of East Anglia.
Once again, we will be collecting items for the local Food Bank during our Convention. Last year you blew us away with your collective generosity and we delivered around 400kg of goods to the local Food Bank, which was really gratefully received.
This year we are collecting for FIND, Families in Need, Ipswich. Please find below a list of suggested items.
We have also booked a market stall all day Friday 15th, if anyone can help us man this stall even for an hour or so to collect food please let Chris Hibbert – District Hunger Officer know in advance.
This is our chance to show our presence during our Convention Weekend and make a contribution to the people of this area, I thank you all in advance.

From Whittlesey Lions Club Charity Golf Day 2019
Hello again.
It is that time of the year again when our Club starts to plan this year’s Charity Golf Day.  I am writing to invite you to enter a team or teams into this year’s event.  The date is Wednesday 10th April 2019.  Ramsey Golf and Bowls Club, Abbey Terrace, Ramsey, have once again kindly agreed to host the event for us.
This year our President Steve has decided to support a local charity,  The Whittlesey Amateur Boxing club which has moved to new premises a few months ago and requires new equipment.  The Club is open to all ages from all backgrounds, their aim is to produce talented boxers from the local area.
Unfortunately both the cost of green fees and the meal have once again risen.  After several years of absorbing these increases we have had to take the difficult decision to put the team entry fee up.  The cost of a team of 4 will be £160 that is £40 per team member.  As normal members of Ramsey do not pay green fees.
The entry fee will include bacon rolls with either tea or coffee 18 holes of golf and supper. The menu choices for supper are 1) Steak & Guinness Pie with Chips & Peas, or 2) Ham, Egg & Chips.  The first Tee off time will be and then every 10 mins thereafter, (exact times may alter and will be circulated later).  The day will finish with the presentation to the winning team, longest drive and nearest the pin.  As always there will be the obligatory raffle.  Players will be playing as a team but scoring individually in a Stapleford format.
If you are interested in entering a team or teams, would you please return the enclosed form to me at the above address, or by email, giving the details of the Team players and menu choices, together with a cheque for £160 payable to Whittlesey and District Lions Club, by Tuesday 2nd April 2018 please.  Entries are on a first come first served basis.  We look forward to seeing you again and hope you will be able to join us.
Please see attached letter and entry form
Yours Sincerely
Lynn Palmer
