Lions Weekly News 18th November 2018

From District Data Protection Officer, Lion Simon Smith
With Christmas collections rapidly approaching there have been questions asked about data protection and additional volunteers. So please find below some guidelines for your club.
1. If you only have the names of the volunteers then, as a minimum, you need to record the names in your club minutes.
2. If you have more than names, for example email or postal address, then you need to ask the volunteers to complete a Data Protection form. And record their names in your club minutes.
I have attached to this eNews a copy of the form that needs to be completed. Also attached is a general guideline document about Club fund-raising and the data protection act.
Please remember that the names of all non-lions assisting at any Lion event must be recorded in club minutes for insurance purposes.
