From Lions Club of Bury St Edmunds
July 14th marks the occasion of the Club’s 5th Charter Anniversary which we will be celebrating with a black-tie dinner and an evening of Lions fellowship at the historic Guildhall in Bury St. Edmunds.
This date is not only an historic moment in the life of the Club but also one of significance for the borough’s splendid and oldest and continuous civic building (800 years), for which our social celebration forms part of a weekend to launch its reopening following an extensive £1 million restauration.
Bury St Edmunds Lions Club, along with District Governor Mandy and civic dignitaries are delighted to invite and welcome fellow Lions to this event
A three-course dinner, including coffee/mints, will be served. Cost £35 pp.
The event commences at 7pm and concludes at 11pm.
Further details can be obtained by contacting our incoming President Sheila,
and bookings made via, or our mail site or telephone numbers 0845 833 1425 and 07770 757311.
We look forward to a festive evening and the pleasure of visiting Lions with their partners.

Acle and Brundall Lions Club – Summer Fun Day Fete

The Acle & Brundall Lions Summer Fete will take place this year on Sunday 22 July, from 12.00 until 4.00 at the Brundall Memorial Hall, Brundall, Norwich, NR13 5LL. As well as the usual stands selling art & craft, cards, food and drink (including a BBQ, beer tent and wine bar) amongst other things, there will be games for children, bouncy castles, birds of prey, face painting, a tug of war contest, and a group of Morris Dancers will be joining us again. Finally, we will be honoured to have the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Lancaster Bomber, one of only two flying in the World, complete a fly-past overhead (subject to weather and serviceability).  This is a real treat in what is the Royal Air Force’s 100th Anniversary Year, and we hope you come and join in the fun with us, and to see and hear this marvellous piece of our history. It’s also hoped that the RAF Cadets will be able to join us. Entry is free.
With kind regards
Nick Bowler
