From Saffron Walden Lions
Saffron Walden Lions are Holding a Clay Pidgeon Shoot, the details are as follows:
Clay Shooting for the Lions will be on Saturday 23 June and we expect to be assembled by 10.15, as a member of staff will run through the ‘safe use of guns’ prior to us having a go.
The site rules require eye protection and hearing protection when near to gun discharges.  Foam ear plugs are available on site at 50p per pair and safety glasses at about £6. It’s possible Eriswell May loan some safety glasses, but I cannot be sure.  Plastic lenses in prescription glasses are acceptable, but do not wrap around the eye!
We will be outside, therefore we need to dress accordingly with sturdy footwear.  There is a covered area adjacent to the area we will shoot in, so cover is provided for teaming rain or blazing sunshine, sun screen may be useful.
The stands we will shoot from will not result in any clay fragments or any shot falling onto us, but headwear may be advisable, if for no other reason than to ‘blend in’ with others on site.
Tea, coffee, snacks etc are available at the club house, as are male and female facilities.
If any local lions would like to attend then could they contact Lion Peter Coe at
Mick Bassett

From Great Yarmouth Lions Club.
