Lions 105ea Weekly News 7th January 2018

From District GLT Co-ordinator PDG Lion Derek Maguire
Saturday 3rd February – Health and Safety Seminar at the Ipswich Hotel (formerly Copdock), Ipswich, post code IP8 3JD
This is the same venue and same day as the District Quiz, hopefully this will encourage members not on the teams to come along to this session.
The Speaker is Frank Sykes who has spent most of his working life in Health and Safety and for many years worked for the Heath and Safety Executive as a field inspector, later becoming principle inspector overseeing the whole of East of England..
He has now retired from HSE and works as a Consultant to Legal Cases, regularly called as an ‘Expert Witness’ in court cases.  From this you will see he is a very knowledgeable speaker who knows the subject from a business perspective and the HSE.  We are running this seminar as our District Officer has had several requests to have a training session like this available.  It was last done by an independent Health and Safety expert about 8 –10 years ago at Beccles and was very well supported
2pm until 4pm ish, cost £3.00 per head for tea/coffee
Please e mail GLT Co-ordinator Derek Maguire or call 01440 702413 to book a place (or 2!)

From SOGB Officer Lion Simon Smith
Please see attached letter from MD105 English Federation of Disability Sports officer Lion Penny Tregillus, please discuss at your next club meeting and see if you can help these amazing atheletes.  Many thanks in Advance
